Canva is a fanciful program. It is a graphic design space for non-graphic designers. Hoe to Use Canva is a fun typo, but this blog is a handful of steps. We are talking about how to use Canva.

Canva is a Program for Graphics

I fyou have a small business or organization of any type, you’re likely to have a website. If you have a website, you need blog, and you need graphics. Before we can learn hoe to use Canva, we’ll need to know why we use Canva.

We use Canva to make graphics.

And you can use it to.

Pony up the $100+ bucks and get to the good stuff. I switched to Canva Pro so fast I dont’ remember what it’s like not to have it.

Choose a Design Size

When you get to Canva’s home page you’ll notice a lot of things going on. Canva is a pretty robust pp.

It makes sense that you’re wondering hoe to use Canva.

In the hero position of Canva’s home page you’ll see a teal-to-purple gradient box with a series of colorful icons in white dots. If this is your first time using Canva, click the social media icon.

Hoes use Canva for Social Media Posts

So does every body else. Canva is a graphic design program for everyone.

When you click the Social Media icon under Canva’s Search box, you’ll be met with many options. Canva is a program you can use to make graphics for anything and it helps you get it done along the way.

Start with something easy in Canva

Click the social media icon.

The icon is under the white text box in the teal-to-purple gradient box on Canva.com.

When you click the “social media icon” you will see this visual:

There are a lot of options. Canva can seem really confusing at first, but I promise it’s very helpful once you get to know it. Stay strong. You’ve got this.

How to Use Canva For Beginners:

I’ve greyed out some of the superfluous options. Start with one of the following designs:

• Instagram Story
• Facebook Cover
• LinkedIn Post

I used Canva to place squares over the superfluous options. I changed the color of the squares to reflect the lightest of my brand colors and adjusted the transparency of the color to 60%. Then, I placed circles around where I want your attention. I also changed those to some of my main brand colors.

When you click on one of these options,

You will be met with a variety of elements and visual assets you can add to your design.

Simple Graphic Design Elements, like:

• Shapes
• Graphics
• Photos
• Text
• Colors

All of which I used above in the second image.

If we decide we don’t like the perfect circles and want something more hand-drawn, we can change the graphic element we used above … “circle” and search instead for “hand drawn circle” or we can use the draw app.

Hoe to Use Canva Draw App

You can start using Canva Draw App when you are already inside the design. Choose one of the above options and get started on your first Canva design! What program do you use more? Instagram, Facebook, or Linked In?

Hoe to Use Canva for Instagram

Even though there are a handful of options under Instagram, I want you to start with an Instagram Story.

There are a few reasons why, but they are beyond the scope of this blog post about hoe to use Canva. Square Instagram Posts are square and although Canva has been around since Instagram was square, the app has moved to promote longer posts. The Instagram Story is already set to 1080 x 1920 and we want that extra space.

How to Use Canva for Facebook and Linked In

Same way, just stat by clicking in. You’ll be met with the same options to drag in elements you choose. Search for them using the apps aon the black bar on the left and the white text box.

Canva is user-friendly.

The first step is just to start. Your first 100 pieces of content will likely be bad. No worries. Just keep going toward your first design!
