When you do an SEO Site audit on your webpage, you’ll get many different line items. One question you’ll wonder about is how to fix broken links on website platforms like Show It.
Here’s a quick blog about how to fix broken links on website.
We’re in Show It.
I have a number of SEO issues on my Show It hosted website. Today we’re focusing on how to fix the broken links that are appearing in my Ubersuggest Site Audit.
On ShowIt there is an eyelash icon that shows if the page is invisible.
Was this a stock page I don’t use anymore?
If you are using a website template, your purchase likely comes with stock pages. My Tonic Site Shop template comes with a page called mini-sales-page.
I don’t use this page but it appears in many of the broken links.
There are two ways Ubersuggest alerts you to bad links.
It is a tedious task to take on the quest for great SEO, but it is worth it.
Broken links are frustrating for the reader. You want all the cool clicky spots to teleport you to the correct next page.
Deep Breaths, you’re not bad at this, there’s just a lot to building a website. There are a few types of mistakes you can make in Show It when it comes to links.
The last one is hardest, and easiest. Hardest to spot, easiest to fix.
When you’re troubleshooting links on your live page, the cursor will change to a hand when there is something to click on, and the link address will appear on the bottom left corner of the screen.
When you didn’t specify a page or place to point the link on the showit app platform, you will not know from the live version of your website that your domain is showing all users. The link will appear to go to whatever page it was originally set up to go to.
You’ll have to make the change on the actual ShowIt app, and that will be where you can visually identify the error, as well.
When you discover the location of the link, open up your ShowIt platform and head to the same page. You’ll be looking for the “Click Actions” menu to open. You will have to select the element that is pointing to the dead page on your domain.com in order to see the correct “Click Actions menu.
Even though there is no page specified, the app is pointing readers to the original page that was linked here on my original template.
It is very easy to change, we’re just going to change the Link Type from Page to None, and then publish our Show It site again.
Yay!
