There are lots of blogs about organizing and organized home blogs, but what about how to organize blog content?
After you’ve written your first dozen blogs and are onto your second and third dozen, you’ll start to wonder.
What is the best way to organize my blogs?
In this blog post we’re going to go over how to organize one blog post and how to organize many blog posts.
Each blog you write is an opportunity for growth. It’s much easier to update an old blog than it is to write new content. New content is necessary, but it’s not the only way to beef up your SEO. Google also likes relevant content so revisiting old posts is a great part of the SEO Journey.
Here’s a video I made of one blog structure example I love to strive for.
The video explains my 17 Simple Blog Fixes. This helps me organize blog posts to the same standard.
When I’m organizing my blogs after I’ve written them, I use a database I made in Notion.
My Blog Post Database includes all the steps to my 17 Simple Blog Fixes as properties that I fill out for each blog.
When I’m in a writing-mode, I’m not usually quick to skip back and forth between authoring and doing admin or graphics. I tend to write the words to a blog and then walk away and go back a second, third, and 4th time to make sure it’s complying with my self-imposed rules.
Some of the most important parts of a blog post are links. Pretty much every blog you have is better if it links out and if it links back to you. You want to link out to sources that are credible but not to blogs that are ranking for the same keywords you’re going for. If you link to a bigger better blog about the same word you’re writing to rank for in the search engine, you’re saying. “Trust them more than me, I do.”
Links help tamp down the path between your pages.
Each post needs to point back to your brand in some way.
